Riverbank – it really is the cat’s whiskers!

Riverbank Cattery was established in 1993 by myself, Karen Huntington.

It was then that I decided to take my love of cat’s one step further.

These days, I am joined by two other members of staff – all whom share my huge passion for cats.

I take great pride in the care we are able to offer to each individual guest. Every effort is made to make their stay with us as pleasurable as possible.

Each bed has a heated pad and all the bedding is provided. However, we do encourage new customers to bring something from home which will smell familiar to their cat. It maybe their own bed (the cats not the owners!!) a blanket or maybe an item of clothing (the owner’s not the cats!!) Anything, that will help them to settle.

Every guest is accommodated in their own enclosed unit measuring 9’ x 4’ x 6’. An ‘en-suite’ outdoor 5’ run is just a cat-flap away where they can stretch out and sunbathe or sit on their own individual garden chair.

The sneeze barriers dividing each indoor unit can be removed in order to make the units bigger and allowing larger families of cats from the same home to stay together.

Our opening hours are 9am – 4:30pm, 7 days a week. We do ask for cats to be collected and delivered before 4.30pm.

On Bank Holidays we open 9am – mid-day and on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years day, we are closed to humans – but not feline guests.

Riverbank Cattery is situated in a very peaceful location – the hamlet of Teignharvey alongside the banks of the River Teign. It is centrally located between Newton Abbot and Teignmouth – and a very short drive from Torquay.
